The "Official" Scream Bio
The official Scream biography, "The Scream: The Music, Myths and Misbehaviour of Primal Scream
by Kris Needs" is due for release on November 30th. The book is available for pre-order at
Amazon.co.uk or
Bookpoint.co.uk. I'm sure many others will be selling it as well.
Kris Needs has toured the world with Primal Scream, together blazing a trail
of rock'n'roll carnage while achieving a personal best in hedonistic excess.
This unique biography gives an insider's view of every aspect of the band's
career. Through fly-on-the-wall documentation, it also provides a
sensational insight into life on the road with Primal Scream. The band have
carved a unique niche through their pursuit of the ultimate rock'n'roll
lifestyle, becoming an infamous outfit whose reputation often overshadows
their music. However, more than a decade after the release of Screamadelica,
hailed as one of the greatest albums of all time, Primal Scream are at the
peak of their powers. Their recent Evil Heat album, and greatest hits
compilation Dirty Hits, display their musical passion and innovation. Via
exclusive interviews with the band and their collaborators, plus analysis of
their albums, Kris Needs lays bare their musical influences. Full of detail,
insider knowledge, and never-before-seen personal photos, this revelatory
biography delves into one of the most exciting bands of all time.

Scream play surprise gig
PRIMAL SCREAM played an impromptu show at an east LONDON rehearsal studio on Saturday night (October 25).
The seminal rockers played a stripped down greatest hits set to an audience of 400 fans to celebrate the tenth birthday of The Fortress - the Shoreditch studio they have regularly practised in over the years.
The Clash 's Mick Jones turned up to watch the 45-minute set that included tracks from 'Screamadelica' ,'Vanishing Point' ,'Give Out But Don't Give Up' and 'Exterminator' and culminated with two covers, 'Kick Out The Jams' by The MC5 and Johnny Thunders ''Born To Run' .
The set was:
'Accelerator'
'Rise'
'Shoot Speed/Kill Light'
'Burning Wheel'
'Medication'
'Jailbird'
'City'
'Rocks'
'Skull X'
'Movin' On Up'
'Kick Out The Jams'
'Born To Lose'
The gig was part of the Kill All Hippies club night - named after the Primal Scream song - and also featured a performance earlier in the evening by electro duo The Orb .
Primal Scream 's appearance coincides with the release of their best of album, 'Dirty Hits' , out on November 3.

Japan
only Live CD, more details surface
The first Live album for Primal Scream!ÊÊ It is an exclusive Japan release.
Attention Primal fans!
As for the selections, it is much like a best album with fine live performances.
Already guaranteed a notable work and a must have for rock fans even before
it is out! Still fresh in memory, the Japan tour of last November with
wildly excited audiences, this is destined to be memorable as it appears
as a live album!
The media is certain to extol (?) it as a grand live as the excitement and
zeal is impressed upon us once more.Ê In addition, approximately 20 years
since the group formed, with hardship and pleasure, the arrival point
of their career as Primal Scream comes to prime. Primal Scream's first
live recording, Live In Japan, is additionally an exclusive Japan release.
The recorded tunes can in effect be called an all-time best selection
of their music. Of course, as this is Primal Scream at their peak, the
performance, the sound, the energy are truly great, an ultimate output.
This is not only is an absolute addition for the fan's collection, but
one for all music fans! The best takes from the 3 performances at Zepp
Tokyo (Nov.16-18th, 2002) were selected by the band. Mix down were done
by the pains(?) of Primal Scream, Andrew Innes and noise wizard Kevin Shields.
No overdubs whatsoever -- It is filled with the true live feel of genuine
rock n' roll. The cover of Johnny Thunders's Born to Lose, which was a
featured encore on this tour gets it's first appearance on CD recording.
Incidentally, the artwork is done by Bobby's friend Nobuhiko Kitamura
(Hysteric Glamour).
The initial editions are 5x2 (2CD i believe) appear as digipak limited editions. Also,
Kitamura produces a mini virtual-live-performance art poster (not decided
yet if to include for regular editions). In the Fall, the long awaited
best album is in the waiting!Ê Primal Scream continues!
