On the new album
Primal Scream were recently in Los Angeles mixing their new record with
Dave Sardy. The bummer is, Dave Sardy is more into Jet than he is "The
Scream". And you thought cancer was depressing. On the new record Primal
Scream got rid of the techno and made a raw rock record in the vein of
The Stones "Exile On Main St.", The Cramps & The Stooges... shit kills!
Primal Scream also told Les that he does too many drugs, and then told
Aaron that if Nine Inch Nails took them on tour, Primal Scream would,
"Fackkkin buhlow yourrrr arse off the stedggge every naigght."

'Screamadelica' artwork creator commits suicide
Paul Cannell, the artist responsible for Primal Scream's iconic
Screamadelica artwork, has committed suicide. Cannell
had been living and working in Cornwall until recently, after
spending many years both making music and creating artwork for it.
His other work included covers for the Manic Street Preachers'
'You Love Us' and the bird logo used on all Heavenly Records
releases. The Screamadelica painting is actually a detail from a
larger work, as were the covers for singles 'Higher Than The Sun'
and 'Don't Fight It Feel It'.
Cannell was also a member of the band Crawl, who released a single
through Creation in 1996.

Screamixdelia
The Scream's groundbreaking album, Screamadelica ha been remixed by the folks over at
PrimalScreamRemixed.com.
Here's what
they have to say about it "There's no reason for this. How do you
improve upon perfection? You don't. We don't pretend to think this
comes close to the Scream's masterpiece, but then nothing else does.
So what primalscreamremixed.com offers is a different spin, moving
from chill through dub via glitch to drum & bass. Not a million miles
away from the eclecticism of the source", different versions of all
tracks are there, including 'screamadelica' as a bonus track.

All profits from the gig went to this charity, as will the proceeds from the forthcoming DVD. The Scream performed the following tracks:
- Accelerator

- Medication
- Movin' On Up
The DVD is in PAL format but apparently region free. It went on sale the 20th of March and can be found at hmv.co.uk.

New Scream album is a Screamer
According to an interview with Alan McGee in the may 8th issue of The Scottish Mail, the new Scream album is a Screamer:
"Scot's rocker Bobby Gillespie's new album is an absolute screamer . . . acording to his old pal Alan McGee.
The Scots mogul says the new Primal Scream demos are fantastic.
He said 'It's definitely a return to form. There's one track that sounds like Moving On Up done up like Led Zeppelin's
Ramble On, and another that sounds like Rocks without the glam rock beat. Screamadelica and XTRMNTR were genius but they
've still got hits in them."
