Don't Fight It, Feel It / Andrew Weatherall & Death In Vegas
« on: November 11, 2011, 03:34:28 PM »
Andrew Weatherall & Death In VegasListen : Next on:
Sunday, 20:00 on BBC Radio 6 Music
SynopsisIconic DJ Andrew Weatherall returns for the latest edition of his 6 Mix residency and brings along a special guest, Richard Fearless from Death In Vegas.

One of Britain's best loved DJs, Andrew has been busy touring the world with Primal Scream celebrating the twentieth anniversary of their seminal album Screamadelica. He has also been remixing the likes of Toddla T and Death In Vegas whose frontman, Richard Fearless, joins him on a two hour journey of sonic wonders.

The band, which was formed in 1994 by Fearless and Steve Hellier, released their 5th studio album, Trans-Love Energies this year. In this programme Richard plays the music that has inspired him, past and present, from the dubby delights of King Tubby to Throbbing Gristle.

Gonna be a amazing listen me thinks

Don't Fight It, Feel It / New Death In Vegas LP?
« on: September 19, 2009, 04:57:12 AM »
Interview with Dickie Fearless at the Leeds festival in August:

"I've recorded a new Death In Vegas album but it just needs to be mixed.
I re-scored these psyche/surf films that were filmed at the Barbican a couple
of years ago and worked on it in the studio for about 8 months. We rehearsed
it and performed it a few times but as yet haven't actually released it.
That's basically what the next Death In Vegas album will be...."

Was lucky enough to catch the Dead Weather at glasto friday absolutely fantastic, Alison  :smitten: looked as ever the cooliest women around spinning, smoking, smoking somemore & spitting around the stage completely suited to the band. Jack White was just Jack White Majestic.

Really looking forward to hearing the album and seeing the live show again  :afro:

Glastonbury 2009 is nearly sold out, already 90% of tickets are gone
January 28, 2009 · Filed Under Glastonbury 2009 · Comment
According to Michael Eavis about 90% of the tickets for this years Glastonbury 2009 festival have been sold. An estimated 136,250 tickets have been issued to date.

A welcome change of fortune for a festival that has experienced difficulties over the past few years. 2007’s event was hit by terrible weather and 2008’s festival, with headliners like Jay-Z, the Verve and Kings of Leon, failed to sell out. Event organisers took a different tactic for the 2009 festival, putting tickets on sale in October – six months earlier than normal.

Confirmed acts for 2009 are:

Blur, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and Kaiser Chiefs, along with PRIMAL SCREAM, Supergrass, The Zutons and The Ting Tings.
