Scream are playing this small-ish Tokyo festival on 27th May; the only non-Japanese band in the whole two-day lineup!

Found this review but it's in Japanese. Setlist at the bottom. Looks like two new tracks, although I'm curious about "Country Bird"and "Shoot Speed Kill Right". Awww...

Genuinely surprised to see a few Screamadelica tracks on the set list.

Aye two new tracks, Deb Googe's debut and Bobby in big girl's blouse/chest hair combo.

Began with a new track (listed as simply '2012' on the setlist) and then a second one later on... first one sounded a little bit Unknown Pleasures I thought; I guess not the loved up vibe some have been expecting after the Screamadelica tour but I liked it. Second had two time signature changes and very Indo-sounding percussion; slightly conjured up the feeling of a bad trip, but that was probably partly due to my severe sake hangover. Provisionally titled 'Relativity'; sounded more interesting than anything on the last two albums!

Deb did well, very head down and subdued for most of the set; playing more to her amp than the crowd but she did get roped into a three-way guitar as machine gun line up with Innes and Barry towards the end (Shoot Speed I think, which Bob dedicated to 'the kamikazes'). Dunno what she made of the 'Mani, Mani' cries from some young girls in the crowd... but she shone on Higher Than The Sun in particular I thought.

Security were really strict on photos/filming but got a tiny bit of the first new song on video:

And also audio of most of the first new song, and all of the second; will upload mp3s tomorrow...

Best of all; just strolled in without a ticket! Raised my arm walking through the gate as though a wristband were attached and I was in...

P.S. forgot to mention that McGee DJ'ed before the Scream came on, with Bob later dedicating HTTS to him...

Cool, what version of Higher Than The Sun did they play?  Are they still doing the epic Screamadelica tour version or a shorter rendition?
