Hop Farm Festival
« on: March 18, 2012, 10:53:33 AM »
Pam Hogg sitting in for Jarvis has just said that Primal Scream will be playing the Hop Farm festival this year, as well as confirming the Stone Roses support. Weird, she's just playing Cry Myself blind as I type this.

If that be the case then this summer is going to be awesome.  I saw Prince at Hop Farm last year and it was brilliant.  Totally chilled festival with no corporate advertising!

Looks lile Primal Scream are playing on the Saturday, possibly as the penultimate act before Damien Rice.  Was a buzz kill that would be to have Rice follow the Scream!  Still, it would give one enough time to get offsite.  It took 3 hours top get out of the car park last year!

Day tickets on sale tomorrow at £55 (no booking fee).

Scream on Saturday  -  headlining the 2nd stage.

Damien Rice fans should be ok as he is in 2nd spot behing Bob Dylan who headlines saturday - so can be watched before heading to the Big tent (2nd stage)

Others on Saturday main: Patti Smith, Joan Armatrading, Sir Bruce Forsyth? (good game, good game)

Behind Primal Scream  -  Maximo Park, Gary Numan, Jezabels, Datsuns

A shame they aren't playing Saturday (bands i would like to see on other days) - George Clinton and Funkadelic, Dr John, Stranglers, Suede, Ian Hunter.

I dont think they will be on at the same time, Patti is on the main stage probably around 7  -  Scream headline the 2nd stage!

Hope i have convinced you  :coolsmiley:

If the Friday stage 2 headliner is Orbitol (still showing TBC) i may even do the whole weekend

Sitting in car park, what A performance! Bobby in fine form. Started with 2012, got the tent rocking immediately and carried us through
Still leaning towards  screamadelica,  but with a smattering or xtrmtr and a sprinkle of give out /riot city. Only disappointment no higher than the sun - were moving at last :buck2:

Haha big up the Hop Farm car park massive. It took 3 hours to get out of there last year!

Brilliant show tonight! Absolutely ecstatic gig, triumphant Come Together followed by the storming triumvirate of Country Girl, Jailbird and Rocks. That rendition of Jailbird is the most triumphant I've witnessed live. The guys are on fire and Debbie is great on bass.

Bobby mentioned the new album being released next year. 2012 and Relativity were full of verve

The cars cleared pretty quickly and we was back in essex and home by 1  - i then decided to play my way through Xtrmntr before heading to bed.

Always good to see the "younger generation" enjoying the shows, a coupld of guys in their early 20's pushing past me to get to the front for shoot speed kill light - and seemd amazed i wasnt down there.

To be honest the only other band i really enjoyed was the Datsuns - but the hop farm festival ale kept the day rolling until the headliner.
